MT-Notifier

The award-winning MT-Notifier plugin for Movable Type significantly enhances the notification options you have available on your site.

While there are similar notification options within Movable Type itself, these notifications must be sent manually and can only notify you of new entries. Other plugins exist as well, but they are far more limited than MT-Notifier.

Only MT-Notifier extends the notification process by allowing subscriptions to individual entries, across categories and even entire blogs, so that visitors to your site can keep up with not only with comments that are left, but what is happening anywhere on your entire installation.

As the oldest notification plugin still being maintained for Movable Type, MT-Notifier has earned a huge following in the community, and the knowledge developed of the inner workings of Movable Type are passed on for your benefit.

Version 4.3.1, the newest release of MT-Notifier, integrates more seamlessly than ever with the Movable Type interface, allowing you to control options both system-wide and at the blog level, using the familiar plugin settings screens.

What's more is that this integration doesn't just stop with the configuration of settings. MT-Notifier 4.3.1 also takes advantage of itemset action menus in Movable Type to provide functions where you need them the most, so you can easily add and even update subscriptions while you are doing your regular work, without having to find another menu to do it!

For the first time, a plugin also offers integrated search (including quick search!) functionality, allowing you to easily find - and even replace - data in your system by using the familiar search options that you already know in Movable Type. Search for email and IP addresses, filter on date range, and even edit-in-place!

MT-Notifier Subscription Management

In version 4.3.1, even the now-familiar user management interface has been completely overhauled, and offers you a compelling new interface to your subscription data. No longer built on the sometimes-flimsy Transformer architecture, the subscription management interface is written from the ground up to provide complete management at your fingertips.

Important Note: MT-Notifier version 4.3.1 was most completely tested on Movable Type version 4.32. It may or may not work with anything less - and that includes prior versions of MT4! While functionality should be fine with MT5, you will likely encounter some screen compatibility issues at this time.

MT-Notifier Licensing

With version 4.3.0, MT-Notifier is available in two versions, one which requires licensing and one which does not.

If you choose to license MT-Notifier, understand that every attempt has been made to keep the cost reasonable for everyone who wishes to gain access to additional features such as a built-in management interface and search functionality.

There are other subscription services out there, but none of them offer the level of integration with Movable Type that you will find with MT-Notifier.

If you feel that you do not need these features, then feel free to use the open source version of the software. Otherwise, any user at all - commerical or noncommercial, individual or nonprofit, pays one price for the plugin.

Please note that the license fee covers one (1) installation of Movable Type on one (1) database on (1) server, regardless of the number of blogs configured on that installation.

Payment of the licensing fee for MT-Notifier entitles the licensee to upgrades up through the next major release. In other words, if you have paid the fee for version 4.x, you are entitled to all upgrades until version 5 is released (but not necessarily version 5 itself). The only exception to this is if the next release is made just after you have paid your fee, in which case an exception may be made, at the discretion of the copyright holder.

Licensees are also eligible to receive pre-release versions of the software and input into these releases, so if you want to see where MT-Notifier is going, and perhaps more importantly, have a say in that process, license the software now so you can get in on it today!

Support

While priority is given to support requests originating from those who have paid the licensing fee, payment of the fee is for the license of the plugin code itself, not for support of the plugin, and payment of the fee does not entitle you to said support.

With that in mind, every reasonable attempt will be made to provide support, but no warranty is expressed or implied with the plugin or the payment of the licensing fee.

If you feel that this is not sufficient for your needs, then we can offer you a support contract or support on an hourly basis, but it is not included in this licensing fee.

Users of any open source or redistributed version of MT-Notifier, or who have modified the code of their installed plugin, are eligible only for paid support.
